Seafarer’s Medical

If you are employed as a seafarer in the merchant navy , the Department of Transport Tourism and Sport, requires you to hold a valid ENG11 Certificate attesting to your medical fitness.

Here at Spiddal Medical Centre our doctors are approved by the DTTAS and thus are qualified to offer you this service.

Any seafarer attending a medical examination must produce  photographic identification.

When it is not a first medical the previous medical certificate and seafarer’s discharge book should also be brought to the examination.

Upon successful completion of your medical, the relevant certificate will be issued immediately.
