Denis Egan graduated from NUIG in 1987. Following several years working through medical specialitites in University College Hospital Galway he travelled abroad for further experience in Iraq and Australia. He returned to Ireland and following completion of the GP scheme began working as principal GP in Roundstone, Co.Galway.
In 1994 he joined Spiddal Medical Centre. He has been involved in research and publications in many areas:Anticoagulation, Atrial Fibrillation, Osteoporosis, Restless Legs. He is on the National Steering Committee for Osteoporosis and Prevention of Falls in the Elderly and also the National Advisory Board for Proteolos. He has run Cardiovascular Risk Assessment Programmes in conjunction with Public Health. He teaches Medical Students in NUIG and is also a recognised GP trainer. Special Interests: Osteoporosis-DXA Scanning , Mens Health, Cardiovascular Screening.
