Marie-Therese completed her undergraduate medical training in University College Cork, graduating with an Honours Degree in 2011. She undertook her Internship in Cork across various specialties, including Geriatric Medicine, Dermatology, Obstetrics/ Gynaecology, Cardiology and Surgery.
Following Internship, she gained further experience predominantly in the areas of Emergency Medicine and General Medicine, both in Ireland and Australia.
Upon return to Ireland, she began her General Practice Specialist Training in 2015 with the Western Training Programme in General Practice, obtaining Membership of the Irish College of General Practitioners in 2019. During Specialist Training, she worked in the areas of Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Geriatric Medicine/ Rehabilitation, Infectious Disease Medicine and Obstetrics/Gynaecology with General Practice exposure in both rural and urban settings.
She has obtained additional qualifications throughout her training:
- Diploma Obstetrics and Women’s Health, RCPI
- Diploma of Children’s Health, RCPCH (UK)
- Advanced Certificate in Long-Acting Reversible Contraception, ICGP
- Certificate in Contraception, ICGP
- Accredited Smear-taker with Cervical Check
